Background

During my education we had course on gamification and the process of creating a game. In the course me and some friends decided to take the initiative and create a tabletop game which we later decided to continue working on as our master thesis with the goal of increase replay-value and flexibility.
Here i want to showcase the design pieces i created in this project.

Design process

Market Analysis: During our initial research, we were fortunate to have a team member deeply embedded in the gaming community with extensive knowledge of trends to draw upon.

User Research: In our research, we opted for a hexagon-based game design, considering its popularity in the market and the increased flexibility it offers for movement during gameplay.

User Testing: Testing played a pivotal role throughout our entire project. Beginning with an initial idea of what our game should be, but lacking a defined end goal for the finished product, we engaged in a continuous cycle of testing to refine and shape our game.

User Interface Design

Dedicated to delivering a visually stunning and emotionally immersive experience, the design embraces a space-themed concept, a timeless genre with a substantial and devoted following.

Accessibility and Inclusivity

Considering that one member of our group is diagnosed with color blindness, we paid extra attention to ensuring the game's accessibility for all users, including those with disabilities. We felt that even if it is a physical game, accessibility here is just as important as in the digital world. We involved him in every aspect of the design to guarantee that everyone can fully enjoy it.

Conclusion

This have been a love project for me ever since I have been young I have been playing games in all different ways.
I actually started making my first game when i was around 10 in RPG maker almost 25 years ago.
Me and a friend made made videos of the power moves and played a scene when you chose that attack.
This journey that we have started have been incredibly inspiring and my learning curve have spiked in the whole game making process.
I continue to find myself drawn to the design process in all of my project and seek inspiration from everywhere.
Hopefully i can collaborate with you in the future and create a more game like future for the next generations.
