My Role
Platform
You have been contacted by a philanthropist who wants to contribute to solving societal challenges.
The philanthropist believes that we can create societal value by developing a web application that can assist individuals and businesses in making more environmentally friendly choices in their daily lives.
Your mission is to innovate around a societal problem and present an idea that contributes to a solution. The philanthropist wants to see a proof of concept through an interactive prototype before any investment decisions are made.
We were assigned the task of addressing a case to solve a societal challenge. We began by generating alternatives and did a voting on a problem that we deemed important
Voting: After the voting, we chose to focus on the furniture industry and home decor. We identified a target audience, set a long-term goal, and developed a concept for our problem.
How might we: We formulated "How can we" questions to identify the specific problems we wanted to prioritise.
Lightning demo: We utilised Lightning Demos to draw inspiration from other companies and services.
Lighting demo insights
We then conducted a How Might We design sprint to brainstorm solutions and narrow our focus to the most important components.
Mid fidelity prototype
Early wireframes led to interactive prototypes, which were tested and iterated on. This phase was crucial for refining user flows and interface elements.

Site maping
Focused on creating a visually appealing and emotionally engaging experience. The design incorporated nature-inspired themes, intuitive icons, and an easy-to-navigate layout.
Special attention was given to making the app accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. Features like screen reader compatibility, color blindness modes, and scalable text were included.
We conducted interviews, surveys to develop our mid-fidelity prototype further and understand pain points for the user.
The changes made to the interface
It has been incredibly enlightening to work on this project.
Being my first completed project, even though it was fictional, my skills in time management and the use of Figma have developed.
What I can take away additionally from the project is the ability to distribute the workload more effectively among the team members.
If I were to redo the project, I would establish the foundation early and recognize the importance of keeping everything structured, from the initial concept to the final component.
