Kundrundan is a work routine app for the supermarket store Hemköp in Sweden.
The app is used to help ease the managing and creation of work tasks through out the store.
Client
My Role
Platform
I got contacted by my supervisor about an app that Hemköp had developed on Microsoft Power Apps to simplify the process of creating tasks thru out the day that diverted from the normal routine, during a workday.
I started the project by researching the reason why Hemköp need the app and how they went about tackling the need the app was suppose to solve at the moment.
Creating tasks: The main reason Hemköp wanted to create an app for tasks management was so they could set rules that would be easy to follow on all their stores.
How might we: After the initial research
Flowchart: I created an initial flowchart after the information i gathered from my research to better visualise what funktions the app would need.
I then conducted a How Might We design sprint to brainstorm solutions and narrow the focus to the most important components.
How might we create a visual overview of problem areas with images?
By using a direct button with camera access that displays visual cards as tasks instead of text.
How might we include more areas easily?
By providing functionality to create and edit custom areas and lists for each unit.
How might we create new lists?
By adding a button to generate new lists.
How might we provide as much necessary information as possible?
By creating a simple and unified interface.
How might we input and distribute information digitally and physically?
By collecting all task information in a simple PDF format for printing.
How might we update upcoming tasks/lists easily?
By allowing an admin (marketing/head office) to post upcoming short-term lists.
Overview
I created several wireframes to get a overview on what would be needed and started iterate with my key user.
Wireframes
They wanted me to keep the design simple and to use the existing theme as a base.
By using elements that are similar in commonly used apps i wanted to make the usability easy to use and recognisable.
I conducted tests and interviews to get feedback on the prototype and made several iterations throughout.
The changes made to the interface
With this being my first big client i feel pride an joy having been able to work with this.
Concerning the app I can still feel like improvements can be made after more real usages from the workers.
I hope I can be a part of any updates that will be done in the future to get the self feel of completion.
I continually question my design and every new idea i get is something i fight not wanting to change directly. This is a process i love and hate at the same time, as I learn more about design and how to build my prototypes in figma.
